Borefield Transfer Pipeline, SA - Supermain® PVC-O
In late 2007 Vinidex was awarded the opportunity to provide pipeline materials for the PROMINENT HILL Borefield Transfer Pipeline. The pipeline is an essential piece of infrastructure that provides water for many communities from processing the raw materials, to potable consumption via on site reverse osmosis plant. Initially specified in PE, detailed cost benefit analysis revealed Supermain® PVC-O to be a more viable material option.

Tailem Bends, SA - Supermain® PVC-O
With the impact of climate variability being felt SA Water has undertaken to ensure drinking water supplies for regional centres such as Tailem Bend located near the end of the Murray River. To facilitate this, SA Water launched the Lower Lakes project. Vinidex Supermain® PVC-O pipe was selected as the material of choice due to the many benefits it brings to the project including environmental, operational and commercial. This is one of the most significant regional water supply schemes undertaken and is likely to set something of a precedent for the future as water authorities nation wide seek to maintain the efficiency of supply to their customer base using the very best materials available.

Pacific Motorway, QLD - Corflo®

Fimiston Mill Drainage Upgrade, WA - StormPRO®

Northern Access Roads Project, QLD - StormPRO®
In 2009 over 1.8 Km of StormPRO® was installed in the Northern Access Road project for bridge drainage as part of improvements to access Brisbane airport. The project, managed by Leightons Contractors included a bridge drainage system which required pipe to be installed and suspended 15-20m above ground level as part of the bridge network.

Taree Effluent Management, Rodney Industries - Marani Irrigators
The Taree Effluent Management scheme is part of a $16million project to beneficially reuse treated effluent at Taree and Wingham on the New South Wales northern coast. The Taree scheme will supply up to 1,000 mega litres of treated water from the Dawson River Sewerage Treatment Plant each year to 11 dairy farmers at Cundletown and Dumaresq Island. Once fully operational the scheme will reduce the release of treated effluent into the Manning River by 50%. This program had provided participating farmers with guaranteed water quality and volume, and has turned a waste product into a valuable resource.

Pinkenba - Brisbane River - Queensland - Hawle
Vinidex recently offered the innovative Hawle System 2000™ Restraint Valves to overcome a serious problem with the installation of traditional flanged valves in older areas of Brisbane. Brisbane Water is undertaking a program of watermain replacement of aging pipelines and selected polyethylene (PE) pipes to replace an old DN 300 steel pipeline in the corrosive, acidsulphate soils in the suburb of Pinkenba along the Brisbane River. The underground water can rise to just below surface level at high tide in this built-up industrial area. The installation included 1km of 315od PN16 PE pipes and 14 x 315od Hawle System 2000™ Restraint Valves. 125od and 180od PE pipes and Hawle valves were also installed.
