2020 marks 60 years that Vinidex has been in business.
Another great milestone reached in the history of our organisation.
On 17 August 1960, at a tiny site in Silverwater, Sydney, a small team successfully produced their first run of PVC conduit. What was more remarkable was that the raw material for this first product was offcuts from the manufacture of PVC raincoats. The conduit that resulted was installed in Sydney’s Cahill Expressway where it continues in service today. In that early period, our founder Dick Bonouvrie and his team displayed many qualities which remain key to Vinidex today: entrepreneurship, resourcefulness, innovation and a focus on sustainability.
Today Vinidex continues to lead the plastic pipe industry and we have the backing and reach of the Aliaxis Group. We have an unparalleled range of products and serve customers across many industries.
When we look back at our history, we are proud of the perseverance, comradery and strength that Vinidex and its people have always shown. These qualities have come to the fore as we have met the great challenges of 2020. It is this strength that is at the heart of Vinidex that underpins our core business values. Strength has ensured the survival of this company over the past 60 years and will continue to take us forward. This is why the theme for our anniversary is ’60 YEARS STRONG’.
